Special Effects Mixer Makes Debut

Auvionix recently released its Special Effects version of the ProMix 801.  This Special Effects version is used with Tactile Transducers in multi-channel home theater surround systems.

The ProMix-FX accepts line level signals from a surround sound processor system, mixes the signals, and sends the mixed signal through an adjustable low-pass filter.  This filtered signal is then sent to a tactile transducer system which vibrates for special sub-woofer-like effects.

The idea behind the ProMix-FX version is that a great deal of audio information from all surround sound channels is useful for low-frequency effects.  Mixing these signals and filtering them to use only the low frequency information makes for an exciting home theater experience.
